Chèvre/Cheese
Black River Farmstead chèvre (French word for goat) or cheese is made from our own pasteurized goat's milk using either
animal rennet or vegetable rennet, if requested. Our soft, spreadable chèvre is milky white and available in
three flavors--dill and garlic, herbes de provence, and plain. We also offer feta that is characteristically dry
and crumbles easily. Our cheeses are packaged in both half and one pound wheels or buttons and last at least 2-3
weeks in the refrigerator. Although we don't recommend freezing our herbed cheeses, our plain chèvre and
feta both freeze well.
